He also asked to find out how much 1,000 stickers would cost. <br />Other preservation plan ideas. <br />Stewart asked if Hartronft could do a curbside chat of the Grain Elevator. <br />Echohawk stated she would like to see us get into the elementary schools into <br />preservation month. She then handed out Youth Summit pamphlets. <br />Haley volunteered to be on a subcommittee to determine how to involve students in <br />preservation month. <br />Update on Demolition Requests - 1141 Jefferson, 623 Garfield, 517 Lincoln <br />Robinson asked if there were any questions on what was approved. <br />None were heard. <br />Update on Alteration Certificate Requests — <br />None <br />Discussion /Comments on Planning Department Referrals — <br />Hutchinson PUD <br />Robinson presented the project, including the social history of the Acme Mine. The <br />HPC had the following comments: <br />• The commission appreciates the effort to include a marker or monument for the <br />mine site. <br />• The commission would prefer more space around the mine shaft area to give it <br />more prominence and allow visitors to move around it. <br />• The commission recommended when designing the marker, please be respectful <br />of the fact that miners have died in the mine shaft. <br />• The commission recommended they include archaeological monitoring when <br />digging and grading on the site. <br />• The commission appreciates the alley access. <br />• The commission does not support the requests for waivers to height, roof pitch, <br />and floor area ratio requirements. <br />• The commission recommended them to show house designs appropriate to the <br />size of the lots. <br />Coal Creek Station <br />Robinson presented the facts of the project.
