Ward 1 Applicant Questionnaire
5. One of the most important tasks of the city council is to establish the annual budget.
What experience do you have in budgeting? How would you approach allocating
Louisville's limited resources?
As an owner of a business, I understand that creating and understanding the budget is an
expression of priorities and a commitment of resources to accomplish those objectives.
I have attended each and every budget meeting of the City for much of the past decade
and am familiar with the City budget and the process that creates that final budget.
My basic goals on resource allocation is to focus first and always on basic infrastructure --
streets, public facilities, water, and public safety.
believe that we need to first ensure we can maintain what we have before taking on new
long -term commitments.
I am firmly committed to doing something well or not at all.
believe that limited resources should be used to benefit the greatest number of our
citizens as possible...while protecting those who can't always help themselves. (sick,
elderly, poor, disabled)
9
