PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Paula Elrod, 1000 Jefferson Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, President of the Louisville Baseball
Association, Jeffco League, spoke on Resolution No. 50, Series 1994, a resolution establishing a
policy that once the lighted Louisville Sports Complex is in operation, the lights at Miner's Field will
no longer be used. She was not in favor of this resolution, as it would eliminate one of the most used
facilities in the City. She felt all of the ballfields in the City needed to be maintained. She also spoke
of the historical value of Miner's Field. She stated that the citizens of Louisville are in favor of
maintaining Miner's Field as a fully operational facility. She submitted a petition and hoped Council
would reconsider their decision to discontinue usage of the lights at Miner's Field. She pointed out
that people have said that they will fund replacement of the lights at Miner's Field.

Bill Elrod, 1000 Jefferson Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, stated that he has a fourth generation that
is playing on Miner's Field. He agreed with Paula Elrod.

Martha Sanderson, ballplayer, spoke in favor of Miner's Field.

(UNKNOWN) spoke in favor of Miner's Field also.

Davidson stated that there is no plan to do away with Miner's Field as a ballpark, just the lights. He
pointed out that in 1989 Louisville had four ballfields, one of which was lighted. Since 1989 the City
had added seven new fields, seven of which will be lighted and two practice fields, a 200% increase
in ballfields. The City greatly exceeds the standard number of ball fields for a community this size.

Lathrop wanted Council to revisit Resolution No. 50, Series 1994, and see how the new fields work
out and what the needs are for lighted fields.

Howard suggested that this issue be a regular Agenda item for the next available Council meeting.

Davidson stated that it would be first on the Agenda for the June 4 meeting. He wanted the people
who spoke when the resolution was passed to be contacted and minutes of the meeting to be made
available.

Mayer wanted to know the distribution of the residents from the Leagues. He had heard from one
of the leagues that they had 200 Lafayette members in the league and Lafayette does not provide any
ballfields.

Sisk wanted this issue revisited before the lights are possibly taken down.

Elrod stated that people are already practicing on the new ballfields and it is not even open.

Davidson stated that it would be looked into.

2
