From Isabelle Thirlaway, six scanned photos of male relatives who served in <br />WWI, WWII, and the Vietnam War; <br />6. From Jean DeLille, a 1942 Louisville High School yearbook and scrapbook <br />pages that belonged to her sister; and <br />7. From Steve Martinez, two mugs from the “Track Inn” (now Casa Alegre), <br />circa 1964. <br />B. The Blue Parrot mural is finished, and it highlights old and new history, arts and <br />business, and men and women of Louisville. <br />C. Dave Ferguson gave the speech and presented the Pioneer Award to Marion <br />Junior’s family at the Chamber of Commerce banquet. <br />D. Bridget Bacon (BB) is putting up storage shelving in the Jordinelli house so that the <br />room with the Louisville diorama can be opened to the public later this year. <br />E. The Library/Museum might be offered bound copies of the Louisville Times from <br />1942 on. Bridget is working on finding out more information. <br />F. Ron Buffo will present a Brown Bag lunch talk tomorrow, March 6, 2014, at noon at <br />the Library. The topic will be the Hecla Mine Conflict that occurred in April, 1914. <br />VIII. Items of common interest with the Historic Preservation Commission – Debby <br />Fahey <br />A. A self-guided brochure of Louisville buildings on the National Register of Historic <br />Places developed by Becky Harney was passed around. The LHPC may be asked to <br />contribute some money to the production of this brochure. Members of the LHC liked <br />the brochure. <br />B. The LHPC approved historic landmark status for the Old Louisville Inn, and will <br />grant money for stabilization and other items. The old bar will be preserved. <br />C. May is Preservation Month. The LHPC is working on ideas for highlighting historic <br />preservation in Louisville. <br />D. While the project to put mine markers along open space trails has been put on hold <br />pending the implementation of the City’s GIS program, this project could eventually <br />present an opportunity for the LHC and LHPC to partner together. <br />E. The LHPC is just beginning to discuss a “Structures of Merit” designation program <br />for Louisville. This is done in Boulder, and it does not place any obligations on owners. <br />F. The City of Louisville is hiring a new planner whose responsibilities will include <br />focusing on historic preservation. <br />G. The LHPC would like a member of the LHC to sit in on their meeting in May. The <br />rd <br />LHPC meets on the 3 Monday of the month. <br />IX. Chairperson’s Report – None <br />
