Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />March 5, 2014 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />X. Discussion/Approval of revising Commission and Museum mission statements - <br />Tabled until May 2014 by request of Dan Mellish. <br />XI. Louisville History Foundation (LHF) Update <br />A. The first order of business this year will be to complete a needs assessment for the <br />proposed new building. The City will coordinate this effort, as it will involve issuing a <br />request for proposals (RFP), and will contribute $20,000. The LHF will contribute <br />$10,000. Beth Barrett will develop an RFP in consultation with other City staff to send <br />to museum consultants. <br />B. 2013 Fundraising statistics were distributed and discussed. <br />C. The directors of the LHF are: Jennifer Strand, Chairperson, Marilyn Hunt, <br />Secretary, Lynn Koglin, V-P/Treasurer, and Dan Mellish. <br />D. The LHF approved conservation of the safe installed at City Hall. This work will <br />begin April 21, 2014, and the public will be able to watch the work being done. <br />E. Beth Barrett and Bridget Bacon are ex-officio directors of the LHF. Beth has said <br />that she can coordinate press releases to keep the work and mission of the LHF in the <br />public eye. <br />F. There will be a report on progress on the needs assessment in May. <br />XII. Close Meeting & Adjourn: The LHC meeting adjourned at 8:00PM. <br />
