City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 6, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 27 <br />Council member Keany. (City Council member Keany arrived at 7:04 p.m.) <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Sherri Lancton, 781 W. Birch, Louisville, CO, and two other Library Board Trustees, <br />reported on a new project entitled the "Little Libraries Project ". The Trustees felt this <br />project would complement the Library's Board of Trustees Strategic Plan. One of the <br />goals on the strategic plan is to build community and to promote literacy. Such "Little <br />Libraries" are springing up all over the Country. One Trustee reported visiting Home <br />Depot and inquiring about building the libraries. Home Depot offered to build the <br />"libraries" at no cost. The signs "Take a Book, Leave a Book" were donated by Andrew <br />at Warped Designs. The paint for this project was obtained from the Hazardous Waste <br />Center in Boulder. The "Little Libraries" will be installed at Community Park,the Town of <br />Superior and at the mobile home park on South Boulder Road and Via Appia. The <br />Board of Trustees will maintain the "Little Libraries ". <br />Mayor Pro Tem Dalton asked where the books will come from. It was noted the Library <br />Foundation will assist with the books. A sign on the libraries will say "Visit our big library <br />in Louisville ". <br />APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />A. Approval of the Bills <br />B. Approval of Minutes April 15, 2014, April 22, 2014 and April 28, 2014 <br />C. Approve Resolution No. 24, Series 2014 — A Resolution Approving a <br />Planned Unit Development (PUD) for an Existing Building at 650 South <br />Taylor Avenue to Allow Three Monument Signs <br />D. Approve Computer Desktop Replacement <br />E. Approval of Appointment to Cultural Council <br />F. Approve Resolution No. 25, Series 2014 — A Resolution Modifying a <br />Previously Approved Preservation and Restoration Grant for the DiFrancia <br />Saloon Located at 740 Front Street <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle called for changes to the Consent Agenda and hearing none, <br />moved to approve the Consent Agenda, seconded by Council member Lipton. All were <br />in favor. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Council member Loo reported Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board Member Gina <br />Lopez has taken a job in California and has resigned from the Board. Council will have <br />to fill the vacancy on the Board. <br />Mayor Muckle welcomed new Police Chief Dave Hayes to the City. <br />
