APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Kelley McKee, 1479 Monroe Place, Louisville, Colorado, representing the Centennial Valley Tennis
Association (CVTA), gave Council a letter requesting that the 1997 Budget include tennis court
improvements such as: lighting of tennis courts, adding additional courts, storage, hitting walls, etc.

Davidson stated that, if a Council member puts this as a goal setting item, it would be considered.

Mayer stated that if lights were added to the courts at the Recreation Center there would be
considerations like impact on the neighbors, hours of operation, costs and who would pay what
portion of the costs. He wanted this put into a proposal as it would have a better chance of getting
serious consideration during the budget process.

John Boo, 186 W. Monarch Court, Louisville, Colorado, was in support oflights at the Recreation
Center. They hoped the facilities at the Recreation Center would become a tennis center for matches.

Rachel (INAUDillLE), 136 South Raintree Lane, Louisville, Colorado, wanted the child care
services at the Recreation Center improved. The child care area is small, has poor ventilation, no
restroom there, and a free indoor/outdoor playground. She wanted Council to allocate funding to
expand that area and make improvements. She also asked about expanding the Senior Center
facilities and presented petitions (SEE ATTACHED) for these two concerns.

Davidson pointed out that it is in this year's Budget to expand the Senior Center.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS
NOT ON THE AGENDA

Lathrop stated that in light of today's train derailment in Louisville, he wanted to request that the
Housing Authority reconsider their plans for their new project on East Street. He wanted them to
reconsider their design and redesign their project with a higher degree of safety.

Keany agreed with Lathrop as the derailment was right behind his office. The train sat there for four
hours and three cars were carrying chlorine and two were carrying hydrochloric acid. He pointed out
that he was out of town the night Council voted on the Housing Authority's plans for that location.
Also, he was very displeased that last night the first games were played at the new $2 million
ballfields with a press release being issued by Parks & Recreation, the newspaper taking pictures of
the first pitch, no one from Council had been invited, and there was no official opening.

Davidson stated that they do plan on having a grand opening.

REGULAR BUSINESS

2
