CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />May 21, 2014 <br />APPLICANT: Jon and Emily Fearnow <br />OWNER: Same <br />STAFF PLANNER: Sean McCartney, Principal Planner <br />LOCATION: 829 Owl Drive, Lot 18, Pine Street Park <br />ZONING:Residential Estate (RE) <br />REQUEST: Case #14-001-VA – Approval of a variance from Section <br />17.12.040 of the Louisville Municipal Code (LMC) to allow an <br />addition to an existing home, creating a lot coverage of 25% <br />where 20% is the maximum permitted. <br />SUMMARY OF PROPOSAL: <br />The applicants, Jon and Emily Fearnow, request a variance from the maximum lot <br />coverage requirement of 20% in the Residential Estate (RE) Zone District to allow an <br />expansion of their front porch on the east side of 829 Owl Drive. The 5,488 square foot lot <br />currently contains a 1,868 square foot, three bedroom, 1 ¾ bathroom, single-family split- <br />level house. The structures on the lot have a footprint of 1,336 square feet resulting in <br />existing lot coverage of 24% (1,336 SF footprint / 5,488 SF lot). <br />1 <br />
