Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 19, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br />Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda - None <br />Pre-filing Conference 700 Spruce <br />Robinson stated there has been a request for a pre-filing conference but he does not <br />see them in the audience. He recommended to push this towards the end of the <br />agenda just in case they showed up. <br />PUBLIC HEARING none <br />Discussion Grain Elevator <br />Robinson stated the owners were not here yet so the item might need to be discussed later. <br />Stewart stated he attended the workshop on Saturday and said they did a good job with their <br />presentation. Jean Morgan was selling pies. He stated Randy and Erik were doing a good job <br />promoting the HPF. <br />Haley stated she was at the workshop later and thought the crowd was very engaged in the <br />project. She stated the owners were giving individual tours so it was fun to watch the <br />interaction. <br />Watson asked how many people were there. <br />Haley stated there were about 20-30 people there when she attended. <br />Fahey stated she liked the ideas for the names on the slats. <br />Watson stated he was able to pass out about 40 stickers at the LMS kid pick up. <br />Haley stated they were going to get the original scale back at the Grain Elevator. <br />Discussion City Council study session May 27 <br />Robinson presented the items in the packet. <br />Fahey asked in what areas do we need City Council feedback. She stated the Empire Sign is <br />in the packet and she wondered why. <br />Robinson stated he is just seeking City <br />Watson stated he hopes if money is provided for the sign he hopes there is some sort of <br />Conservation Easement to protect it. <br />Stewart recommended including information regarding the new State Tax Credits. <br />Stewart asked what to expect from the HPC at the meeting. <br />
