Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 19, 2014 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />Robinson stated he expected Watson and Haley to present at the meeting. He has a <br />PowerPoint created for the meeting. <br />Watson asked what age range the Junior Preservation Program was for. <br />Robinson stated elementary. <br />Committee Reports <br />Preservation Month <br />Robinson stated the primary items for Preservation Month were the Grain Elevator <br />Workshop and the stickers. He said they both have been very successful. <br />Watson stated the stickers have been a great idea and we should continue to do this <br />throughout the year. <br />Stewart stated there were about 7,000 stickers made. <br />Echohawk asked if there were stickers at the museum. <br />Robinson stated he would make sure some were at the museum. <br />Historic Commission liaison <br />port. She stated Bridget Bacon had purchased a <br />the Acme Mine development (Hutchinson PUD) to the commission to see if they had <br />any ideas. She added Erik and Randy were there to give updates on the Grain <br />Elevator. <br />Update on Demolition Requests - 816 Main <br />Stewart mentioned he had contacted Cohen to discuss an assessment of the sign and <br />think the <br />Watson stated he spoke with City Manager Malcolm Fleming to try and figure out other <br />angles. He stated Fleming is eager to assist. He then stated there should be a <br />modification to our regulation to allow tenants to authorize building assessments. <br />Stewart asked staff if the HPC could make a request for a building assessment. <br />Robinson stated the regulations specifically states the land owner must authorize. He <br />stated we can further investigate whether we have to amend our regulation to allow for <br />the tenant to authorize the assessment. <br />Haley asked who did the first renovation of the sign. <br />
