Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
May 19 2014

5. Public comments: Chairman Gambon opened the floor for discussion on the
proposed change to the cart path on Hole #4. The original plan (Plan A) was to
move the cart path to the left side of the fairway and closer to the property line of
the adjacent homes. This change, together with trimming of the trees on the right
side and the realignment and small movement of the tee boxes to the left was
intended to allow golfers to aim more for the center of the fairway. This change
was in the original 5-year plan as adopted by Council for consideration in 2016
but was not viewed favorably by the GCAB due to cost. With the accelerated
plan due to the flood damage, this change was included in the renovation but
was then removed in consideration of the impact on adjoining homes. A revised
plan for Hole 4 (Plan B,) moved the cart path to the left of the tee boxes with the
path ending just ahead of the front tee. The remainder of the cart path was
removed, with golf carts traveling down the fairway to pick up the path again
approximately 150 yards short of the green. A variant this plan (Plan C) kept the
path as-is but ending just ahead of the front tee similarly to Plan B. Considerable
discussion took place on the various options and Staff were requested to include
Option D; keeping the original cart path as-is.
In summary:
Plan A, maximum cost and impact on homes: no longer under consideration
Plan B, moderate cost, some concern from homeowners, good playability
Plan C, moderate cost, good playability
Plan D, no cost, some playability impact, favored by homeowners and Mens
League.
The homeowners were told that the final decision was the responsibility of Staff
and Staff agreed to consider Options B, C and D with a decision to be made in
the next 4 weeks. Staff committed that no demolition or changes would be
started prior to discussing the decision in a public meeting. Chairman Gambon
advised the homeowners of their options should they disagree with the final
outcome.

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
Golf
3
