City of Louisville, Colorado
(303) 335 -4731
joes a@.louisvilleco.gov
From: Kevin Norby [ mailto:golfnorby @earthlink.net]
Sent: Tuesday, July 08, 2014 10:59 AM
To: Joe Stevens
Cc: Brian Vitek; Allan Gill; jbschmenk @gmail.com
Subject: Coal Creek Add Alternates
Joe,
I have reviewed the list of add alternate options and thought I'd attempt to summarize my thoughts
regarding priorities. In general I would agree with the list of priorities identified by the GAB. However, I
would like to see the City entertain the construction of a new +20,000 sf. "punchbowl" green where the
existing practice green is located. This would be a wonderful addition for kids and families and would be
instrumental in differentiating Coal Creek from other courses in the Denver market. To do this, we'd
have to take at least one of the three large cottonwood trees (the most southerly one) on the east side of
the practice green. That would allow us to extend the new green towards the creek on the east side. Then,
a new and somewhat smaller 6.000 sf warm -up /putting green would be constructed to the west near the
No.1 back tee and the chipping green and practice bunker would be rebuilt in their current location. The
cart path and cart staging area be reconfigured to create some additional space and to improve circulation.
The starter shack would be removed. So, with that in mind, the following is my list add alternates in
order of priority:
• - -- Construct new +20,000 sf. "punch bowl" or Himalayas putting green (LU new
price)
• RG /PG5 Reroute cart path and 600 lf. of curbing at cart staging area (verify quantities on new
plan) $29,070.19
• RG /PG7 Reconstruct practice chipping green and bunker in existing location (adjust for
keeping in existing location) $
• RG /PG11 Realign cart path and staging area to accommodate putting green
expansion. $4,478.79
• RG /PG6 Rebuild putting green and surrounds — 6,500 sf. (LU new price) $
• RG /PG3 Realign target fairway and construct target greens $32,419.36
Install water service only for future restroom at No.15 tee. (LUprice) $
• RG /PG9 Remove timber retaining walls, regrade and $1,794.27
• #15 -1 Construct restroom near No.15 tee $45,000.00
• RG /PG4 Construct new 10,000 sf. nursery green $24,712.25
10
