Pt,L uisvlle
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
Golf Course Advisory Board _Minutes'
June 16 2014
5. Public comments: Cart path on hole #4. Joe Stevens stated that Staff had
decided to recommend the design wherein the cart path starts on the right of the
back tees and then is moved to the left of the new tee boxes and terminated just
ahead of the front tee box. This saves $30K to $40K compared to the original
plan which moved the entire cart path close to the property line. The board and
homeowners asked if there was sufficient benefit in moving the first part of the
path compared to just shortening the existing path. It was agreed to defer this
question until we got input from Kevin Norby during the June 18 tour of the
course. Homeowners also questioned the plan for the flood mitigation by the tee
boxes on hole #8. All items discussed during the public meeting on the course in
April were included in the plan from Alliance Engineering other than the lowering
of the tee boxes. This topic was also deferred for discussion with Kevin Norby on
June 18. Francie Bosley asked if the City would remove the silt built up on the
portion of ground between the creek and her property. She also commented that
debris had built up again in the creek bed and suggested that this would be a
good project for volunteer labor.
6 Staff Update
a. Rebuilding project cost update: there is no hard data on updated costs for
either the base bid or for the Add /Alternate list other than the estimate that
additional work on the greens has added $277K while the Irrigation bid is
$100K below what was expected. Overall, Staff believes that we have
consumed around $100K of the $400K contingency. The flood mitigation
costs are estimated to be within the $150K allocated by City Council. Staff
will work with LU to get more precise numbers.
b. Add/ Alternate discussion and GCAB prioritization. Without more accurate
estimates, it is pointless for the Board to try to prioritize Add /Alternates at
this time other than to note that if there is $300K in contingency available,
it should be possible to include the key items as noted in prior discussions.
It was also noted that the window is rapidly closing for decisions to be
made.
c. Rebuilding project schedule update. LU is still working towards the spring
2015 re- opening. Irrigation work is proceeding mainly on the last 5 holes.
Laterals are being installed by pulling pipe on hole #15 and the main pipe
is being progressively trenched and installed towards the pump house.
The intent is to relocate the booster pump at the bottom of the hill on hole
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 3354738
www.Iou isvil leco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS
GOLF
3
