All were in favor. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle stated the City Council will look at the swim times at the Memory Square <br />Pool and discuss the parking issues. Council member Keany asked Chief Hayes look <br />into the traffic concern at Steel Street. <br />Mayor Muckle reported on the grand opening of the Louisville Fire Protection District's <br />new training facility in the Colorado Technology Center, which is a state -of- the -art <br />training and maintenance facility. He described the opening ceremony. <br />No items to report. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />APPROVAL OF A 5 -YEAR, ANNUALLY RENEWABLE CONTRACT WITH WESTERN <br />DISPOSAL FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL REFUSE, RECYCLING, AND <br />COMPOST COLLECTION SERVICES <br />Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. <br />Public Works Director Kowar reported the staff has concluded negotiations and now <br />recommends a final contract with Western Disposal for refuse, recyclables, and <br />compostables collection. The proposed agreement includes the following changes from <br />the original proposal provided by Western: Continuation of one free bulky item pickup <br />per calendar quarter; Provision for free zero waste services for Street Faire; Inclusion of <br />500 cubic yards of finished compost for the City to provide to residents and an Online <br />Survey services to better understand customer needs. <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Council member Stolzmann requested staff inform the Farmer's Market next year they <br />will have to prepare for their own waste disposal. <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved to approve the 5 -year annually renewable contract with <br />Western Disposal for single - family residential refuse, recycling and compost collection <br />services, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dalton. Roll call vote was taken. The motion <br />carried by a vote of 7 -0. <br />
