He introduced other representatives of Xcel (legal counsel, <br />environment consultants, land rights manager, project manager, manager of community services) <br />Requested copy of Dec 11 letter from Mr. Schlott and clarified inclusions in the commission <br />packet. <br /> <br />The issues to address this evening - We need approval now to continue quality electric service to <br />Louisville and for future growth. If this work is not performed the existing line may experience <br />overhead problems and we may be forced to interrupt electric service, resulting in power outages <br />as early as summer of 2001. The project is similar to a highway improvement. Varying the line <br />would cost an additional $8 million and funds are not available. <br /> <br />Pole type: We addressed the pole type issue with the public and from the information gather and <br />from staff we proceeded and order the poles. There is a 22-week lead-time to get pole delivery. <br />That’s why they have been ordered. <br /> <br />Route evaluation: Based on conversation with numerous meetings with the City Manager, Paul <br />Wood and Public Works director and the city council input we evaluated the routes.
