APPROVED – <br />11/09/2004 <br /> <br />Staff advised that the Historic Preservation Ordinance is a discussion and direction item only and <br />will not require any action / approval of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />7.Staff Comments <br /> <br /> <br />Citywide Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> <br />Staff reminded the Commission of the joint study with the Planning Commission and the City <br />Council set for October 26. <br /> <br /> <br />Highway 42 Revitalization Area Update <br /> <br />Staff provided a summary of the ongoing projects: Conditions Survey, Environmental <br />Assessment RFP, CDOT meeting regarding the traffic analysis, and draft Design Guidelines and <br />Mixed Use Zoning. <br /> <br /> <br />8.Planning Commission Comments <br /> <br /> <br />Pritchard asked about the drainage problems at the Centennial Pavilion site. <br /> <br />Johnstone stated that Public Works was aware of the problem has been working with the <br />developer in the re-design of the drainage for the remaining lot area yet to be developed. <br /> <br />Kalish thanked Johnstone for his excellent presentation at the Brownfields Conference. <br /> <br />Kalish acknowledged that the fence has been installed at the Lutheran Church and things are <br />improving at the site. <br /> <br />McDermott expressed concern with two topics: 1) the transformer at the police station needs <br />additional screening and 2) Sam’s Club had auto sales / display at the front of the store again. <br /> <br />Johnstone stated that he would need to check the PUD for the Police Dept. building for what <br />screening was required. He will also follow up with Code Enforcement regarding the auto <br />display at Sam’s Club. <br /> <br />McAvinew noted the poor condition of the sidewalk between the Police Dept. building and the <br />Recreation Center. <br /> <br /> <br />9.Adjournment <br /> Pritchard moved and Kalish seconded to adjourn the meeting.
