697 Fireside St Louisville CO 80027
terre.sky @gmail.com 720.215.9707
Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge
Comprehensive Conservation Planning Alternatives
role: Alternatives Mapping Designer, Public Outreach Consultant
year: 2013 -2014
The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge Comprehensive Conservation Planning Project
analyzed four distinct alternatives for the planning of the Arsenal for the next 15 years. The four
alternatives looked at Alternative A, a "Current Management" option, Alternative B, a "Traditional
Refuge" option, Alternative C, a "Gateway Refuge" option and Alternative D, an "Urban Refuge"
option. Alternative D explored multimodal connections to neighboring communities and uses that
expanded upon the big six uses of the US Fish and Wildlife Service: hunting, fishing, environmental
education, wildlife observation and photography. Strategies for engaging the communities in the
review of the alternatives and programmmatic partnerships were also explored in the process.
i ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Commerce City, Colorado
Planning Alternative D June 22, 2014
HIE EiN
PII DT
AREA
Nrmila ty3: Rey eu
oeiN¢
Wrat Y
Legend
^ Major Creek
---- Intermittent Btream or Ditch
Lake or Pone
Army Properly
Shan S Mined Grass Prairie,
Biwn Management .ne
Bald Eagle Nest/Critical habitat
— RMANWR Fence (Current)
RMANWR Fences (Planned)
Management Zane Boundary
— RMANWR Asphalt Road
— RMANWR Gavel Road
RMANWR Parking
Northern Ai.
