697 Fireside St Louisville CO 80027
terre.sky @gmail.com 720.215.9707
Athmar Park Neighborhood Connectivity Planning
role: Landscape Architect, Public Outreach Consultant
funding source: Colorado Health Foundation, National Park Service
year: 2013 -2014
The Athmar Park Neighborhood Connectivity Plan was a collaboration between the City of Denver
Parks and Recreation, Groundwork Denver and the National Park Service Rivers, Trails &
Conservation Assistance Program. NPS assistance was requested to assist in breaking down barriers
that kept local community residents from accessing the parks and trails along the South Platte River.
We developed a community survey with Groundwork Denver to determine connectivity and
pedestrian and bike safety issues. These comments were recorded at community events on large
maps that the residents could draw and make notes on. The resulting map and its recommendations
are currently being used to support a more comprehensive neighborhood plan and to inform the
City-wide Denver Moves Bicycle Mobility Plan.
Community Connections Plan
Ideas for Bicycle & Pedestrian Improvements Oe,reloped by Residents
Deriver 00 \uve•riber 24, 201
SLLSVIOFTil
ri
vns- 83r- Val-reoe
Drag
norc.n ,n
lUIWre.'1, 4
fibers& Few:
r7;+ti4ai io tll
gt7Put
/S. )1`S1S6SS
Legend
Lakes& ponds
- Streams
- Existing bike routes
Parks
Railroads
ASO.
