Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
September 10th, 2014
X. Discussion Item: Topics for Potential Joint Board Meeting with Superior
Ember reports that Superior's Open Space board may be interested in meeting either in
Nov. or Dec. The Wayfinding consultant will need to meet with OSAB at that meeting.
The plan is to have a 6:30 start time, so we can meet with the consultant, then invite
Superior to show up at 7:30. The potential topics would be:
— The Hwy. 36 underpass.
— Reviewing and coordinating the two cities' plans for trail linkages to the Hwy.
36 underpass, with the goal of improving trail requests to Boulder County.
— To review their Coyote Management Plan.
— To learn about the planned open space development associated with the
massive Superior Town Center project.
— To ask about their budgeting and accounting practices.
XII. Discussion Items for Next Meeting on October 8th:
This will be a joint Meeting with the Lafayette Open Space Advisory Board. OSAB will
begin at 6:30 to give the board a chance to meet with the recently -hired wayfinding
consultant before the Lafayette guest arrive.
1) Urban Drainage Outfall System Plan on Harney Lastoka. This is a topic that
both cities' boards need to review, as the Harney Lastoka property is owned by
both cities and the county.
2) Wayfinding: The City of Lafayette just earned a grant to work on their
wayfinding and walkability issues.
3) Coyote Management
4) Trail and Acquisition Requests to Boulder County
XIII. Adjourn
Jeff Lipton reports that City Council approved the Trail and Acquisition Requests to
Boulder County documents. Council mentioned that they would like to schedule the joint
OSAB /council study session to be before this submittal next year.
Laura motioned to adjourn the meeting.
