2- Work with grain mill folks to foster knowledge of early days of Louisville <br />development <br />3- Local churches including United Methodist — what is the <br />history /architecture etc of downtown area. Publish brochure to help <br />people identify historic homes and histories of those areas. <br />6- Zoology and Botany Programming <br />Lecture series can focus on providing information about plants and animals. <br />Explore ideas about how to provide more information about plants and animals within <br />our community. <br />Ideas for expanding this mission <br />1 Butterfly neighborhoods <br />2 Demonstration Gardens <br />3 Signage about local wildlife <br />4- Additional programming about plants and animals in our neighborhoods <br />5- Collaboration with HFAB and Open Space Board about better <br />management plan for this focus area to include intentional landscaping and <br />planning to support species that are at risk. <br />6- Backyard gardening/beekeeping /chickens and how to do it, use it and cook <br />with it. <br />Ways to expand programming without reaching member burnout <br />1- Pinpoint volunteers and keep in contact with them to ensure their <br />continued service <br />2- Identify youth groups that can get involved <br />3- Provide outreach and training to people who might be interested in <br />volunteering <br />4- Fill out schedules with contact info so know who can do programs <br />5- Hold stakeholder meetings to maximize collaboration <br />6- Clearly identify responsibilities for council members so that people know <br />what needs to be done <br />7- Work on reliable food providers for activities <br />3 <br />
