Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 25, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 8 <br />Jason and Adanta Dehne spoke thanking the board for the review and look forward to <br />learning more about this structure. <br />La Grave asked the applicants what they are seeking. <br />Jason stated he was most interested in performing a structural assessment to learn <br />more about the structure. <br />La Grave asked what they were hoping to do. <br />Jason stated they are interested in landmarking. H eadded they would like a small <br />addition, but maintain the form. <br />Public Comment— none <br />Commission Comments <br />Echohawk stated she was happy to see the social history to understand the social <br />significance. <br />Haley stated she is excited about the project. <br />Watson stated property qualifies architecturally because it has maintained its form, and <br />he believes it qualifies through social history as well. <br />La Grave made a motion to approve the probable cause determination, allowing a <br />historical assessment grant. <br />Echohawk seconded the motion. <br />Motion approved by voice vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARING — 1245 Grant Landmark, Alteration Certificate, Grant <br />Watson introduced the item. <br />La Grave asked to take separate votes on each item being requested. <br />Trice presented staffs report and the items submitted in the packet, including historical <br />photos and a social history of the property. She stated the structure has retained <br />architectural integrity and has an exemplary social history. She gave information on the <br />proposed addition. She added staff approves of the proposed addition and gave a <br />detailed report of the grant request, including a breakdown of costs. <br />La Grave asked for more budgetary information, more specifically how the grant request <br />works with the repayment requirements from the Grain Elevator purchase. <br />Robinson gave some details on the repayment requirements. <br />
