SUBJECT: WWTP AND STORMWATER UTILITY PROJECTS UPDATE
DATE: OCTOBER 28, 2014
PAGE 2 OF 2
If continued, both projects will result in significant rate increases. Staff is developing
updated multiyear Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater rate increases to determine
needed 2015 -2019 budgeted revenues and expenses.
Staff is providing this project briefing as a prelude to the Louisville and Superior Joint Utility
Study discussion and to give the City Council an early opportunity to understand the
progress of project activities, possible future impacts, and answer preliminary questions
prior to asking Council to me any critical decisions.
In short, these are very large projects that may seem invisible to the average resident but
will have very noticeable impacts to Utility bills. Our neighboring communities have many
of these similar challenges and are also are struggling to work through them. The Water
Committee has already had a great deal of discussion on these projects. Staff felt that
with large approaching milestones it would be appropriate to have a brief focused
discussion at this point in time.
ATTACHMENT(S):
1. WVVTP Site Plan
2.
