City of Louisville Citizen Survey <br />July 2004 <br />Recreation and Senior Services <br /> <br />Seven of the eleven aspects of the Recreation and Senior Services Department received <br />`udq`fdq`shmfrne56nqghfgdqinfnnconqadtter. Recreation fees in Louisville received <br />the lowest average rating (52), but were stilkadsvddmnfnnco`mcne`hqonmsgd0//,onhms <br />scale. <br /> <br /> <br />When compared to national average ratings, Louisville was below average for the overall <br />performance of the Louisville Senior Center and above average for the Coal Creek Golf <br />Course. The overall performance of the Recreation Center was similar to the national norm. <br /> <br />Importance of Possible Changes <br /> <br />Nine in ten respondents felt that adding more youth programs and services were at least <br />nrnldvg`sohlonqs`ms-Dhfgsx,rdudmodqbdmsof respondents felt that changes to the <br />b`qchnu`rbtk`q`qd`vdqd`skd`rsnrnldvg`sohlonqs`ms`mcdhfgshmsdmqdronmcdmsr <br />thought that changes to the aerobics and multi purpose rooms were important. About 75% <br />thought that changes to the weight rooms `mcfxlm`rhtlvdqd`skd`rsnrnldvg`so <br />important. <br /> <br /> <br />Survey participants were asked to identify which possible change they thought was most <br />important for Recreation Center. Four in ten respondents reported that adding more youth <br />programs and services was most important and about one-quarter of respondents felt that <br />making changes to the cardiovascular area was most important. <br /> <br />Importance of Potential Projects <br /> <br />About nine in ten respondents felt that building new trails and an addition of a teen center <br />vdqd`skd`rsnrnldvg`sohlonqs`msonsdmsh`kprojects. About eight in ten respondents <br />thought that the expansion of the Recreation Center, building a cultural/arts facility and the <br />expansion of the Senior Center were at le`rsnrnldvg`sohlonqs`ms`mcrdudmhmsdm <br />residents thought that an addition of a new outcnnq`pt`shbrbdmsdqv`r`skd`rsnrnldvg`so <br />important. <br /> <br /> <br />Survey participants also were asked to choose which potential project they thought was <br />most important for the City of Louisville. About one in four respondents felt that building <br />new trails in the City was most important. One in five respondents selected building a <br />cultural/art facility as the most important project, followed closely by expansion of the <br />Louisville Recreation Center (17%), addition of a teen center (16%) and addition of a new <br />outdoor aquatics center (15%). <br /> <br />Public Library <br /> <br />The average ratings for Library services (70), Library programs (69), the overall performance <br />of the Louisville Public Library (67) and Library Internet and computer services (65) were <br />bnmrhcdqdcnfnnconqadssdq-Sgd`udq`fdq`ting for Library materials and collections (56) <br />v`rrshkkadsvddmnfnnco`mcne`hqonmsgd0//,onhmsrb`kd- <br /> <br /> <br />The Louisville Public Library services rating was similar to the national average and the <br />overall performance of the Louisville Library received lower ratings than other communities <br />in the nation and Front Range.
