Local Licensing Authority
Minutes
October 27, 2014
change of trade name. Machado seconded. Roll Call Vote: Tennessen — yes,
Machado — yes, Carlson — yes and Hughes — yes. Lipton absent.
Police Department Reports
A. Incident Report — Rex/Bittersweet — 9/11/14
This incident involved a one car accident with possible DUI and mention of the
two establishments in the narrative. Questions were posed to Sergeant
Lanphere concerning the Blood Alcohol Content and follow up with the
restaurants. Sergeant Lanphere explained this report did not warrant more follow
up but was provided for the Authority's information. Carlson commented he was
glad to see the report. Authority members agreed there was no action to be
taken.
Secretary's Report
Chairperson Carlson noted the report contained the letter sent to Lucky Pie as
requested at the last meeting and an attendance report from the last seller/server
training.
Hughes inquired if any response had been received from the letter. Hanson
responded there had not been.
Authority Attorney's Report
No report.
Authority Comment and Discussion Items for next meeting
Machado expressed concern about the lack of employees from some of the
downtown establishments attending training and wondered if there were more
ways to encourage it. Hanson stated she sends a letter at the beginning of the
year noting all the sessions and a letter before each session. Sergeant Lanphere
noted they plan the sessions with the Lafayette Police Department ahead of time
so letters can go out early. He said they also do special training with restaurants
and thought some of the chains have training they provide to their employees.
He mentioned the police department tries to establish relationships with the liquor
licensees and encourage them to attend training.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting
Carlson noted the next meeting will be Monday, December 8, 2014 at 7:00 PM.
Adjourn — Carlson moved to adjourn. Machado seconded. All in favor. The
meeting was adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
