Comcast has responded the costs of a City - <br />mandated store in Louisville would be passed on to Louisville subscribers, and the <br />resulting fee would nearly double a subscriber's average monthly bill of roughly <br />$100 /mo. Comcast no longer operates smaller stores, instead they have large <br />Xfinity Stores, such as the one in Boulder, which is within 8 miles of City Hall. <br />2. Appointment windows for service calls: Comcast has agreed to a two -hour window, <br />and the remedy for non - compliance is a $20 credit currently provided in instances <br />where Comcast technicians arrive beyond the two -hour window. <br />3. Clarity of billing: The City has reviewed current bills Comcast is issuing, as well as <br />changes Comcast is contemplating to its statements, and asks them to make their <br />bills clear and provide notice if there are changes. <br />Staff hopes to have a draft franchise agreement for Council consideration in early 2015. <br />COUNCIL QUESTIONS <br />Council member Lipton inquired about cases of equipment failure, whether Comcast <br />would mail out a new unit, without charge, as opposed to having people return <br />equipment to their offices. Public Relations Manager Muth stated staff will check on this <br />matter. <br />Mayor Muckle inquired whether the equipment can be repaired by the service <br />technician. He stated the density question is still an important item for negotiation. <br />Public Relations Manager Muth stated they are working on that issue for the new City <br />Services Facility, which is currently outside their service area. She stressed the <br />importance of the City crews having the Weather Channel to plan for snow storms. <br />Council member Lipton inquired about satellite service. Public Relations Manager Muth <br />explained Comcast has agreed to provide cable to all City facilities. She estimated the <br />ordinance would be available for the first meeting in February. <br />RESOLUTION No. 76, SERIES 2014 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A <br />FINAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) TO ALLOW <br />FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 36 UNITS IN 3 BUILDINGS ON <br />BLOCK 12, AND 6 UNITS IN ONE BUILDING ON BLOCK 15 <br />Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. <br />Planning and Building Safety Director Russ explained the request is for approval of a <br />Special Review Use (SRU) to operate a private fitness studio with retail sales at 1817 <br />Hwy 42.
