CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, passed out a calendar of upcoming meetings. He pointed out that <br />there would be a second public meeting on the ! 995 Downtown Project on Tuesday, February 28 at <br />the Recreation Center. Friday is the Library Open House at 6:00 p.m. The March 15 Work Session <br />concerning discussions with the Louisville Fire District is tentative. Due to Spring Break for the <br />schools, it was decided that the March 29 Work Session be cancelled. He announced that the <br />regional meeting for the Smart Growth Conference would be Saturday, April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to <br />5:00 p.m. at the D.U. College of Law. That is the scheduled date for Louisville's Volunteer <br />Appreciation Day. He briefed Council on the Marshall Lake/South Boulder Coal Creek Ditch <br />transfer case. Simmons stated that the Public Works Director had prepared a memorandum <br />containing information on raw water supply and demand projections. This was written before the <br />February 11-12 snow storm. It showed a deficit in May - September and October - April of acre feet. <br />They would be keeping a eye on this. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayer stated that he and Bill Simmons, City Administrator, attended a meeting with the various <br />parties signing on to the IGA for the Solid Waste Authority. He commented that the Authority would <br />have no power to assess any of the individual entities. He stated that there is some potential for legal <br />liability, which is why there is no ability for immediate withdrawal. The Authority would be limiting <br />the kinds of materials being brought on-site (no hazardous materials) and procure insurance up to the <br />statutory limit. Mayer asked Council to review the information and discuss it at the next Work <br />Session. <br /> <br />Davidson asked the City Attorney for an opinion as to what the city's liability would be if Louisville <br />joined the agreement and does the city's insurance cover that liability. <br /> <br />Maj-Lis Kemper, City Clerk, spoke to a Political Science class at the University of Colorado and they <br />felt the government in the City of Louisville is a model government in the State. <br /> <br />Davidson asked Tom Phare, Public Works Director, to have an in depth discussion at the next Work <br />Session on the supply/demand due to the second year of the drought the city is in and what the terms <br />of water restrictions might be. Davidson. Davidson asked Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police, to bring <br />his enforcement plan for speeding to the March 15 Work Session. <br /> <br />Howard asked about the planned security for the new commercial development occurring in south <br />Louisville. <br /> <br />Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police, stated that they had met with the management of Mann Theatres <br />who had offered to provide the Police with work space within the new theatre complex. With the <br />newly approved grant position, part of the justification will be a community policing plan around all <br />of the commercial development in that area. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
