Louisville SustainabilityAdvisory Board
Meeting Minutes
January21st, 2015
Page 2of 3
For Localization, it was asked if we can get guidance from other nearby communities’ programs, and
perhaps from CSU’s Master-Gardener program. (Someone) asked if we should add bee-keeping and
organic gardening to that section.
David H and Justine asked if we should seek some funding to ‘market’ the Roadmap. Dave S noted
that staff is now developing the budget for the next year. David H said he and Jim would appreciate
comments to better delineate strategies.
Justineasked if we have useful-life reviews of other public projects; Dave S replied that he does have
such info available.
It was agreed that we’d submit any further recommended edits to Justine, David, and Mary Ann for
nd
. They’ll then send their updatedsections to Jamie B, who’ll
their respective sections by Feb 2
combine the sections into a single document for our February meeting.
Mary Ann suggested that at our next meeting, we set a timeline to send our Roadmap to other boards
and community groups, and that we set an outline and schedule for future public meetings.
X Community Gardens:
Mary Ann and Claudia briefed us on their work during the past month.
Mary Ann stated she’s been contacted by two Boy Scouts who’ve volunteered to help with design and
construction of a storage shed and raised garden beds. She also noted we may have lost further
volunteer help from the civil engineershe had previously contacted. Claudia stated she’s had little
luck finding 501c hosts/funding sources, needed to receive donations for funding and managing the
proposed gardens. David H stated he may be able to provide some legal/technical assistance.
XI. Log our volunteer hours:
Members reported their time spent during the month, listed below.
th
XII. Items for Next Meeting
(March18):
th
Prepare our presentation for our meeting with City Council on Feb 24: compile a list of our 2014
work and accomplishments, compile a list of our intended tasks for 2015; select a presenter.
Review the edits to our Sustainability Roadmap Sectionssince our January meeting; discuss how
we want to proceed with it in the coming months.
Review any updates for our proposed Community-Gardens.
XIII: Adjourn:
We adjourned at 8:10pm.
City of Louisville
Public Works Department 749 Main Street
Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4608 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.louisvilleco.gov
