has collected 1.1 million from FEMA so far. Target date for opening is
spring of 2015. The question was asked if there is a date determined
as to when the decision would be made to open the course or not; Joe
stated that April is currently the go-no-go date. June 23rd is the date
that the grow-in period ends.
2) Outstanding add alternates- The bathroom on the back five remains
at the top of the priority list of add alternates. While fun discussion was
had regarding outhouses and the mining era we are hopeful that the
City will be able to come through with this amenity.
3) Geese- Geese are a nuisance on the course and can be harmful to our
newly seeded turf. David Dean is looking into a product called a
goosinator to help keep the geese off of the course. The cost is
$3475.00 and may be a wise investment to the geese moving.
4) Non-golf use- It was determined that we all want to have non-golfer
programs at Coal Creek when it opens. Examples discussed were
cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding and Divots and dining.
Lisa stated that she would organize a Divots & Dining event this fall. It
was also proposed that we organize a Rocks & Dining in the spring.

Item XI – Proposed agenda items for next meeting –
• Recap the Meet the Head Pro Candidates meeting.
• Discuss the Facebook page – “Friends of Coal Creek Golf Course”
• Schedule update
• Punch list update
• Update on Marketing finalist
• Update on public meeting and golf course tour.

Item XIII- Adjourn- The meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM. Perry Nelson
proposed. Dennis Maloney seconded.

The next meeting is February 9th at 6:30PM – February meeting will be held at
City Hall, Spruce Room.

Like us on Facebook at Friends of Coal Creek Golf Course

Parks and Recreation Department · 749 Main Street · Louisville, CO 80027
(303) 335-4735 · FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov

Parks Recreation Senior Services Open Space Forestry Trails
Golf
