Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />January 26, 2015 <br />Page 3of6 <br />B. Transfer Application — Pho Louisville LLC d /b /a Pho Louisville — Hotel <br />and Restaurant Liquor License — 592 So. McCaslin Blvd. <br />Carl Ream, Attorney for the applicant introduced himself and Victor Ngo, the sole <br />member of the LLC. He stated this restaurant will likely be open in February <br />serving Vietnamese noodles and soup. Mr. Ngo has not been in the restaurant <br />business before so has taken TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) <br />training and will provide the same type of training for his employees. Mr. Ream <br />expressed his feeling this restaurant will be a great addition to the choices in <br />Louisville. He asked the Authority to approve the transfer of the liquor license. <br />Authority member Machado told the applicant the police department works to <br />establish working relationships with the restaurants to avoid liquor related <br />problems and encouraged Mr. Ngo to cooperate with the Police Department. <br />Tennessen moved to approve the transfer application for a Hotel and Restaurant <br />liquor license for Pho Louisville LLC d /b /a Pho Louisville. Machado seconded. <br />Roll Call Vote: Machado — yes, Tennessen — yes, Hughes — yes and Hervey — <br />yes. Transfer approved. Lipton and Carlson absent. <br />C. Transfer Application — Mr. Sake Sushi & Grill, Inc. d /b /a Mr. Sake <br />Sushi & Grill — Beer and Wine License — 1387 E. South Boulder Rd. G <br />Acting Chairperson Hughes called the next item and noted the applicant was not <br />in attendance. He called for any discussion from the Authority members. <br />Tennessen moved to approve the transfer of the Beer and Wine License to Mr. <br />Sake Sushi & Grill, Inc. d /b /a Mr. Sake Sushi & Grill. Machado seconded. Roll <br />Call Vote: Tennessen — yes, Hervey — yes, Hughes — yes and Machado — yes. <br />Transfer approved. Lipton and Carlson absent. <br />D. Transfer Application — Los Viejos LLC d /b /a 740 Front — Hotel and <br />Restaurant Liquor License — 740 Front St. <br />Fred Burns, proprietor of Los Viejos LLC d /b /a 740 Front, introduced himself to <br />the Authority and noted this transfer of liquor license was from the Old Louisville <br />Inn. He explained the restaurant will be a steak house and grill and they hope to <br />be open by April. <br />Mr. Burns stated he has been in the restaurant business for many years and will <br />be hands on at this restaurant. He anticipated the restaurant could employ 50 -60 <br />people. He noted he and his business partner are in the restaurant business not <br />the bar business. Liquor will be a part of the experience, but not the focus. He <br />noted he was familiar with handling all aspects of liquor service. <br />Authority member Machado reminded the applicant about fostering the <br />relationship with the police and being vigilant about over service especially during <br />the Street Faire. He mentioned the police department provides training for liquor <br />
