Howard: What is the cost difference between repair of our
existing vehicles and going out for bid. Will we
be saving ley doing this?
Phare: Yes, I feel we will be saving. We did look at
possibility of changing the drive train for a new
engine, but: we were not comfortable with that.
Davidson moved to authorize Public Works to obtain
bids for a front end loader and award the bid to
Navistar International in the amount of 558,645,
per State Bid Contract No. 070-52-03 for a 35,000
GVW truck, seconded by Hornbostel. All in favor.
OTHER REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS ARISING AFTER PREPARATION OF AGENDA
NONE
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
NONE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPOR'P
Brand: A memo was sent to you last week that had to do
with reconsideration of sales tax, use tax as it
applies to lumber yards within the City of
Louisville and the effect that the sales tax, use
tax has on it as far as building materials are
concerned. One council member asked if a work
session might be arranged to discuss this so it
could be addressed. Also since that time a couple
of other items have come up that we might want to
discuss in .a work session. Another issue that has
6
