matter.
Sackett: On the airport access what is your feeling on what
the City of Louisville has taken?
Bryan: I think that the position is
priority is that there be some
access on this plan. It doesn't
to be a four lane highway.
Carnival: Why would you consider bring:
vehicle registration after what
last election?
that the first
kind of airport
necessarily have
Lng back up the
happened at the
Bryan: The general anaylsis on the W-470 issue was that
there was a lot of other issues with regard to the
outcome.
Hornbostel: After the MTDC was done the leaders in Boulder
County decided they really needed a collective
voice of what was needed in Boulder County. The
subcommittee of airport access did a study to see
if there was need for airport access and if there
was how would that be accomplished. The county
and several other people would like to sit down
and do some models. While we were at the last
meeting and we had these assumptions in front of
us and we were trying to make decision as to which
one would most effectively address all the needs
in Boulder County there was another option that
came up. This is very controversial in Boulder
County and knowing that there is a need for
airport access there was a compromise in order.
On going up 93 instead of using a new road we use
the existing road. It would be an arterial route
and it would have wide shoulders, it is still in
the working phase. There are several options that
could be used. One of the reasons that this has
been presented is that they feel that one of the
messages in the last election might be that people
wanted us to use our existing roads. What I would
like to purpose is that you take this information
home and look at it. We have a work session on
this and if there is a true need for airport
access then we need to discuss this. I really
feel that we need to quit fighting the battle of
W-470 and start working something out. This is
still in the development stage.
Council agreed that this should be discussed in a work session to
see exactly what the Council felt was needed.
Brand: Stated that a work session was scheduled for
Thursday November the 29th. The work session will
be held at the Library at 7:00 p.m.
10
