Library Board of Trustees
Meeting Minutes —DRAFT
January 8, 2015
E. Mobile Libraries
Possible venues to visit include Concerts in the Park, Movie Night, Farmer's Market, and
possibly others, but the Board still needs to determine what type of mobile library will
be best. Helana will post to social media sites advertising for a wagon. Items to be
included on the mobile library comprise handouts, stickers, bookmarks, library card
applications, and some books. The Board may also be able to bring a tablet to look up
items and then use a phone to take pictures of barcodes for onsite checkout.
F. Louisville Times donation: Status Report
Shelving has arrived and will be assembled and put in place. Newspapers will then be
moved from the Museum and can be made available to library users.
Microfilm of the Louisville Times is available at the Steven H. Hart Library in Denver.
XI. Director's Report
• One Book 4 Colorado program
Beth noted that statewide voting is now in progress from among three finalists. Voting
ends on March 1, and the books will be distributed to 4- year -olds throughout the
community in April. Volunteers are being asked to go to preschools, as last year.
• Louisville's DVD overdue fees have been lowered from $1.00 to 50¢ per day.
Broomfield's DVD overdue fees are also 50¢ per day. The higher amount was necessary
when the collection was much smaller, but no longer necessary.
• Items being held for patrons on the `hold shelf' will now be available for 7 days rather
than 5.
• E- commerce for payment of fees is almost ready to launch and will go live once the
systems librarian in Boulder returns in late February from an extended vacation.
XII.
