SUBJECT: COAL CREEK GOLF COURSE 2015 FEE SCHEDULE
DATE: APRIL 20, 2015
PAGE2OF2
• A Corporate Golf Pass Program will be offered.
• A new Regal Pass program will be offered. While the program targets senior
golfers, during non -peak days, it will also be marketed and available to everyone
noting that a number of working schedules are not always traditional and younger
adults with or without children, may be struggling to make ends meet, are on a
"fixed income" etc., but would clearly love to play more golf.
• The rack rate (highest 18 hole green fee) on weekends and holidays will be $49
in 2015.
• The highest rack rate on weekdays will be $43 in 2015.
• Special programs and season passes have been named after mines that once
operated in and /or around Louisville. This pays homage to the history of Coal
Creek Golf Course and is consistent with efforts to brand the golf course.
• The Parks & Recreation Department will continue to explore, develop and
integrate non - traditional golf programs including but not limited to foot golf,
interpretive programs, Himalayan golf events, etc. at Coal Creek Golf Course.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The 2015 adopted Coal Creek Golf Course budget projected total revenue of
$2,620,400 inclusive of a general fund transfer of $300,000 to help with the first year
operational start -up costs and a $1,196,000 transfer from the Capital Projects Fund for
equipment and major capital necessary to re -open and maintain the golf course as
authorized and adopted by City Council. This means that Coal Creek will need to
generate $1,124,400 in revenue or reduce operating and start -up expenses to cover a
projected short -fall in 2015. Staff will continue to monitor the budget, but based on a
June 29th 2015 opening date, rounds could be 18% below original projections so both
revenue and expenses will need to be reviewed and amended accordingly.
RECOMMENDATION:
Review and comment on the 2015 Coal Creek Golf Course Fee Schedule is
recommended.
ATTACHMENT(S):
1.
