David Baril has met with the following
groups so far:
- Food and Beverage Concessionaire — has spoken with Sarah Jarman and her
partner, Isaac, regarding the seating layout, for example. They have a
standing meeting every week to go over goals.
- Course Superintendent — has met with David Dean several times to review the
status of the course and will continue to work closely with him
- Men's League and Women's League Presidents and members
• Ken Gambon emphasized that David Baril should use the advisory board
however he needs to — we are all eager to achieve success together
• David Baril also stated that with regards to marketing efforts, he was eager to
craft a communications piece so that the area golfers know what is going on;
Ken Gambon reminded everyone that the communication to the non - golfers
was very important as well.
• Ken Gambon asked about the timing of the programs that David Baril may
want to put in place; David stated that his first priority was to lock down
pricing but he has already signed up the course for the Colorado Junior Golf
Association (CJGA) and anticipates a junior golf program at Coal Creek.
• Lisa Norgard and Cory Nickerson offered to help get information into
Louisville elementary to high schools' children's hands from. Lisa noted that
BVSD's last day of school is May 29th, so any information must get to the
students the week before, ideally May 22nd. David said he expects to have
pricing and programs ready for distribution by the end of April or beginning of
May.
• Joe Stevens reminded the board about the outstanding liability in the form of
golfer "credits" which amount to approximately about $43,000. This
represents rounds of golf, gift cards and /or merchandise credit which were not
consumed prior to the floods. Credits purchased at the Coal Creek
Clubhouse during Western Golf's management period will be redeemable
after the course reopens and will be set to expire on the (third) anniversary of
its original purchase date. For example, credits originally purchased on
March 1, 2013 will expire on March 1, 2016 after the course re- opens,
allowing consumers to come in and redeem their credits.
• Perry Nelson asked about competitive pricing and if David Baril and Joe
Stevens were looking at the current pricing of nearby courses, such as Indian
Peaks. Perry stated he has heard from his community that there is a desire to
have special pricing for ladies and seniors, for example. David Baril stated
that it will be a little while before they can see where the real demand is for
that kind of pricing., We will, however, have dynamic pricing, which will serve
some of this demand. Dynamic pricing will be variable pricing based on
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335 -4735 • FAX (303) 335 -4738
www.Iouisvilleco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS GOLF
