adjacent to the Sundance Subdivision where there had been leakage earlier this year. The Ditch <br />Board decided that it is not the responsibility of the ditch company to mitigate the ditch leakage and <br />the concrete lining project's magnitude is far beyond the company's financial resources. The Board <br />agreed to dean the ditch, scarify and recompact the clay lining to minimize future leakage. The City <br />has offered City manpower and equipment to remove the spoils. The ditch has been cleaned in that <br />vicinity. Staff recommended a neighborhood meeting. He asked Council to suggest dates. <br /> <br />Mayer had talked to Public Works about some drainage improvements that could be done. <br /> <br />Simmons passed out a copy of language that had been adopted by the Solid Waste Authority in <br />response to the City's proposal regarding language in the Governmental Agreement. He suggested <br />Council read the information and schedule it for a Work Session for further consideration. He stated <br />that on October 11 there will be the dosing on the Pine Street parking lot acquisition. It will be some <br />time before there will be a closing on the Front Street property. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Sisk asked if there was a Work Session on October 11. <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that it is yet to be determined. He suggested an item that <br />could be scheduled, a discussion of the 1994 Uniform Building Code, but there would not be any <br />budget discussions. <br /> <br />Council decided to have the October 11 Work Session. <br /> <br />Keany asked about the status of the gas/oil well needing to be capped at the Meadows at Coal Creek. <br /> <br />Simmons stated that a letter had been sent and no response had been received. Response request date <br />was October 2. He would follow up. <br /> <br />Keany asked that a resolution putting a hold on building permits be on the Agenda at the next Council <br />meeting, until this was settled. <br /> <br />Davidson instructed the City Attorney prepare the resolution and explain the City's options. <br /> <br />Mayer stated the he, the City Administrator, Gene Caranci, Ronda Kelley, and Bruce Williams from <br />Superior had met with RTD to discuss enhancements to transit service to this area. He wondered if <br />the City might be interested in assisting in providing funds toward service for this enhancement. RTD <br />wanted an indication from Council that they would like to proceed with this. <br /> <br />Davidson suggested that this be done in advance of setting conditions for the 1997 Budget. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that there will be a transportation informational study in January or February. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
