Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 27, 2015 <br />Page 2of6 <br />Shari Margelas, owner, presented their interest in landmarking. <br />Fahey asked abo the additions they are interested in placing. <br />Margelas stated they plan to maintain 95% of the original structure. <br />Fahey asked about the planter boxes in the front of the porch. <br />Margelas stated they would remove the planter boxes and probably put up <br />hand rails. <br />Koertje made a motion to approve the probable cause based on meeting the <br />criteria for probable cause. <br />Watson seconded the motion. <br />Stewart agreed. <br />Motion passed 6 — 0. <br />Probable Cause Determination — 613 Grant Avenue <br />Stewart stated he worked with the applicant over 15 years ago. <br />Trice presented staff's report. She stated the property was once owned by <br />the Mudrock family and believes the structure has a strong form. She <br />believes the property is eligible for probable cause. <br />Sue Norris, owner, presented. She stated they want to landmark the house <br />to help protect Old Town. <br />Watson asked when the siding was placed on the structure. <br />Trice stated after 1948. <br />Norris stated the Mudrock family owned the property until we purchased it. <br />Stewart asked why Norris wanted to go with the assessment before <br />landmarking. <br />Norris stated she wanted to get an assessment before they proceed, <br />especially if the landmark process won't allow them to fix the porch. <br />Haley asked if they want to keep the porch enclosed or open it. <br />Norris stated they haven't decided yet. <br />
