Mayor also invited the candidates to voice their <br />ideas. <br />Sackett stated that he supports the survey and feels <br />that the information will be valuable. Sackett felt <br />that questions regarding the W-470 would be <br />appropriate since the recent election presented a <br />$10 vehicle registration fee to the voters and was <br />overwhelmingly defeated. Sackett would like to see <br />if there is support in Louisville for the highway <br />with a different financing mechanism. Sackett feels <br />that the highway would lead to more <br />commercial/business revenues as a result, and make <br />the City less dependent on growth dollars and <br />residential taxes. The alignment and the City's <br />participation in the Authority should also be part <br />of the question presented to the citizens. The <br />Mayor directed staff to proceed with the survey. <br />OTHER: None. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE <br />REPORTS Councilman Ferrera stated that he would not seek re- <br />election. Circumstances at work would not allow him <br />the time he feels necessary to remain on Council. <br />Ferrera thanked everyone on Council for their help <br />and support and stated that he enjoyed working with <br />everyone. <br />Councilman Scarpella also stated that he would not <br />be seeking re-election for personal reasons and <br />thanked everyone for the past four years. <br />Mohr commented that he recently became familiar with <br />the Employee Handbook developed by staff, especially <br />Debbie Broome, and commended Ms. Broome for the <br />"first rate production." <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS Mayor Fauson asked for any public comments. <br />Louis Droesch ask to address Council stating that he <br />is a peripheral resident or fringe citizen of the <br />City of Louisville although he has lived in the <br />County for over 16 years. Mr. Droesch stated that <br />he shops in Louisville, sent his children to school <br />in Louisville and votes in County elections in <br />Louisville -- "and I'm crazy about your City Clerk." <br />Mr. Droesch then stated that as "City Fathers," City <br />Council has special duties and obligations and asked <br />for a very special request. "As you know I hold one <br />of your staff in very high esteem -- which one is <br />obvious..." "I ask that that City Fathers give me <br />your blessing in asking your City Clerk for her hand <br />in marriage." After some discussion as to whether <br />
