City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 19, 2015 <br />Page 5 of 34 <br />with a theme of connecting with the history of Louisville and Coal Creek and mining. <br />The staff will carry on the theme with a high level of customer service and interaction. <br />He thanked the Council and noted he was available to answer any questions. <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Mayor Muckle noted the information in the packet was very thorough and he didn't have <br />any questions. He called for public comment. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Ken Gambon, 607 Augusta Drive, Louisville, CO noted the GCAB supported the <br />dynamic pricing. <br />Mayor Muckle liked the emphasis on junior players. <br />Council member Stolzmann asked staff to work with the Summit players to determine if <br />they desire a flexible re -start of their membership. She noted there may be a need to <br />limit play in the beginning to let the course stay in good condition and allowing <br />staggered re -start of the memberships might help. She asked if other Council members <br />supported the idea, especially for the limited number of Summit Club members involved. <br />Mayor Muckle supported and noted the other Council members were nodding their <br />heads in agreement. He asked staff to look at the option. <br />Council member Lipton noted the packet material suggested the City had been overly <br />optimistic about finances for the current fiscal year and wondered about the long term <br />view for balancing the budget so as to not support the operations going forward. <br />Head Golf Professional Baril noted he is optimistic for potential growth and success. It is <br />a unique situation and he gets daily phone calls anxious for the course to open and <br />expects a spike when open. He noted there are impacts on the bottom line, for example <br />the players whose memberships are already paid for and will not generate any revenue. <br />Parks and Recreation Director Stevens noted revenues may be down and expenses are <br />being managed in ways such as a staggered hiring of work force. He did not want to <br />over promise revenue this year but was optimistic for future operations. <br />Council member Lipton said with the 2016 Budget right around the corner, he would be <br />anxious to hear staff's evaluation of how things are going after 3 -4 months.
