There is a push to encourage season passes during the golf season and invite core golfers back when the course opens. Some programs will be different i.e. free golf during the winter months will be discontinued. She wanted to give the golfers a good impression and an enthusiastic return. Parks and Recreation Director Stevens noted staff wants to work toward encouraging a golf course uptick in all areas, with good business practices in mind. He noted they had a Job fair just today was attended by 78 young folks. He hopes this will lead to getting young people excited about the golf course. Ken Gambon, 607 Augusta Drive, Louisville, CO addressed the flooding issues on the golf course. He has thought about it a lot and thinks something needs to be done in the Open Space. He suggested large dams to stop the flooding which would be dry the rest of the time. Mr. Gambon, who serves as chair of the Golf Course Advisory Board said he was cautiously optimistic about the re- opening even with all the rain. He supported allowing former Summit Club members time to restart their memberships. John Riley, 643 Augusta, Louisville, CO reported he was a Summit Club member with 6 -7 months left. He wasn't ready to start the membership right away and would appreciate some time to re- activate it. COUNCIL COMMENTS Council member Leh didn't consider himself much of a golfer, but was appreciative of the hard work Joe Stevens and his staff and the Golf Course Advisory Board had put in to make this a great golf course. COAL CREEK GOLF COURSE 2015 RATES AND FEES Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. Parks and Recreation Director Stevens noted the packet contained a detailed summary of the fee and charge program and process. He introduced David Baril, Head Golf Course Professional and asked him to go through some of the new programs and fees. Head Golf Course Professional Baril expressed his excitement to be in Colorado and preparing to open this course. To develop a successful pricing strategy, City staff and the Golf Course Advisory Board (GCAB) have taken comments from golfers, non - golfers, considered survey data and balanced competing interests against the need to generate sufficient rounds /revenue necessary to cover operating costs. He reviewed dynamic pricing which is being introduced to Coal Creek and targeted to market sensitivity and golfing demand. This means green fees are dependent on time, day of week, course conditions, and as a result reflect variable pricing. Adjustments to pricing can be made as data is collected from actual operations and will be available online to keep the public notified.
