Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated that this ordinance proceeds to adopt a series of amendments
to the Fire Code that were not adopted by Ordinance No. 1204, since they were not adopted by the
Fire District Board until November 9.

Davidson called for Council questions, comments, or motions.

Howard moved that Council approve Ordinance No. 1206, Series 1995, set out for publication and
set the public hearing for December 5, 1995. Seconded by Mayer. All in favor with Keany being
absent.

APPROVAL OF SCRIPPS HOWARD CABLE COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE
CENTER/BUSINESS OFFICE

Sisk was concerned if the Scripps Howard letter dated November 2, 1995, really met the spirit of the
negotiations and discussions that they had with Council. He wanted to see an actual lease drawn up
or a place where they have their office.

Bill Blankenship, Human Resources Officer, stated that Scripps Howard is in the process of
interviewing people to hire as Scripps Howard employees to work at the office. It will be an office
within the Business Answers building, separate from Business Answers.

Sisk wanted a lease in place.

Levihn wanted to hold off on approving this.

Davidson did not mind the location, but wanted to know the specific hours that there would be a
Scripps Howard representative there.

Blankenship stated that he understood that there will be two people staffing the office full-time and
the Customer Service Standards indicate that the office must be open Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Sisk moved that Council table this item until December 5, 1995. Seconded by Levihn. All in favor
with Keany being absent.

OTHER REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS ARISING AFTER PREPARATION OF AGENDA

NONE

CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT

NONE

9
