L
Memorandum
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Meredyth Muth, Public Relations Manager
Date: January 9, 2008
Re: Vacancies on Preservation Commission
For the Preservation Commission to retain its status as a Colorado Certified Local
Government with the Colorado Historical Society, we must meet membership
requirements stating that 40% of the Commission be professionals in a preservation-
related discipline.
In total, the Commission must have three members who are professionals in one of
the following fields to meet our requirements.
• Architecture
• Landscape Architecture
• Architectural History
• Archeology
• History
• Planning
• American Studies
• American Civilization
• Cultural Geography
• Cultural Anthropology
One of the three positions currently open must be filled by a preservation
professional to retain our CLG status.
Should more than one of the applicants for the Commission be professionals in one
of these fields, the Commission would encourage the City Council to appoint two
professionals so there is extra depth on the Commission.
