Howard congratulated staff on bringing the water pipeline to fruition in a very timely manner. He <br />commended Council for the foresight to spend the money where it is truly needed. <br /> <br />Mayer and Sisk agreed with Howard. <br /> <br />Susan Cniffiths, City Attorney, recommended that if there is a motion to approve the bid award, since <br />the contract ran through 1995 and into 1996, they include a statement within the motion that the <br />amounts so approved shall be pledged irrevocably from present cash reserves and held for payments <br />in future fiscal years to take care of any Amendment 1 concerns. <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council award the contract for construction of the Southern Water Supply Project, <br />Louisville Raw Water Connecting Pipeline, Segment III to BT Construction for the bid price of <br />$448,455, authorize contingency funds of $35,876 to be used as needed for a total project cost of <br />$484,331, authorize the Mayor to sign the contract documents on behalf of the City of Louisville, and <br />introduce the language that the amounts so approved shall be pledged irrevocably from present cash <br />reserves and held for payments in future fiscal years. Seconded by Howard. Roll call was taken. <br />Motion passed by a 6 - 0 vote with Levihn being absent. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1204, SERIES 1995 - ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1994 EDITION <br />OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND ENACTING AMENDMENTS THERETO... - <br />2ND READING - PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1204, Series 1995, "An ordinance adopting by reference <br />the 1994 edition of the Uniform Building Code and enacting amendments thereto, adopting by <br />reference the 1994 edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code and enacting amendments thereto, <br />adopting by reference the 1994 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code and enacting amendments thereto, <br />adopting by reference the 1994 edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous <br />Buildings, repealing Chapter 15.52 of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning elevators and <br />escalators, establishing fees under the Uniform Building Code, amending, repealing and reenacting <br />certain sections of Title 15 of the Louisville Municipal Code in connection with the adoption of the <br />foregoing uniform codes, and establishing penalties for violations of such codes." <br /> <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated that this was approved without amendment on first reading. <br />It incorporates fee table lA reflecting a 3.5% to 4% increase. In review of the ordinance, the Chief <br />Building Official found three text revisions that needed to be incorporated into the ordinance. <br /> <br />Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, pointed out that on page five there was an amendment to Section <br />15.04.050, sixth line up from the bottom, "...General Design Requirements;". It should read <br />" .... Snow Load Design;". On page six, Section 15.04.070, paragraph B, second line up from the <br />bottom it read "....basic roof snow load..." and the wording should be" .... basic ground snow load .... ". <br />On page seven, Section 1203.2, the indented portion, middle of the paragraph after the words <br />" .... unfinished basements .... "add the words" .... intended for future habitable space .... ". <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
