Arts & Humanities Council
Agenda
November 15, 2007

- Young Writer's is being hung this evening. Opening reception is from 7-9 pm
Friday November 16. Lisa is still in need of a volunteer for Sunday November
25, and Jim may be able to do it. This is our 19th year doing the show with
LAA. LAA and LCC split the $1,200 cost of framing. LAA is now re-thinking
how to do this show, as they are concerned about the cost. They are
considering combining with a Spring show and require people to matte their
own artwork, but nothing is decided. Lisa thinks we should check in with them
by early Summer to see what their plans are for the Fall.
- Silent movie coming up, a children's event and two more Coffeehouse
Concerts in December.

XVIII. Goals for next year
Everyone should think about a few goals. Kathy P. thinks we should have a
goal on the sculpture project.

XIX. Soliciting new board members
- Kathy P. has sent Rosalie Sheffield an application for the board. Her
expertise is corporate events. Her business is Digital Edge special events.
Very interested in the technical side of events.
- Wendy's friend Susan McNamara may be interested in being on the board.
Don suggests we get people from Center Stage and CCCT on the board. Don
will approach Donna Flebbe, Lynne Flemming, Amy Austin to tell them we are
interested in having members to apply on the LCC board.

XX. Roles of LCC - Maryan Jaross
- Maryan stated that this board runs in the direction of interests that are on the
board, that we have become more of a presenting organization. She wants us
to take more of an advisory role. It was discussed that we should still continue
signature events, but that if at all possible we should have people outside the
board manage the events.
- Carol suggested that we have some messaging on the Web site regarding
how we are an umbrella organization and support the arts in Louisville.

XXI. No meeting on 12/20/07. Agenda items due for the January meeting due
January 8.

XXII. Adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted by Julie Kovash.
