He
suggested putting together a ballot initiative to get a preservation sales tax on the ballot.
He noted the great expense required to preserve historic structures and the need that
desire among residents to save those structures. He noted that there is a great deal of
interest in historic preservation and this would be the time to capitalize on that interest to
get something on the ballot. He asked for community support for such an effort.

Lewis thanked Hartronft for his idea and asked if this could be placed on a Commission
agenda. Muth noted that staff time could not be used for an initiative process. is
noted that if there are members of the public willing to work on this idea, a c
group could be formed.

Discussion - Louisville Middle School Demolition
Boulder Valley School District Officials Invited to

Ty Gee, 253 Hoover Court, thanked the HPC for its work and noted
of Old Town in order to save our community character, architec
Louisville is known for its Old Town, it is what defines our com

Muth stated that at the December 5 meeting members 0 he HPC asked staff to invite
Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) officials to the mee g to review plans for the
proposed demolition of the historic section of Louisville Middle School.
