Crushed rock will be laid down to provide a functional roadbed pending
the final repair. The bridge project will be completed over the winter.
o Replacement of the Coal Creek sign by HWY36 is on the to -do list. Lisa will
contact the Rupert family who take care of the CU Buffs sign to see what their
plans are.
o Painting work on the Clubhouse exterior is complete and the contractor is working
on the bathrooms by the tees on hole #6 with the pumphouse exterior next on the
list.
o David D does not plan on reinstalling the 150 yard poles as they obstruct mowers
and can block golf shots. Alternative distance indicators are being considered
such as flat plaques in the middle of the fairways. All sprinkler heads are marked
with distance although it was noted that the sprinkler heads are positioned for
optimum watering rather than in a grid parallel to the fairway. All flagsticks will have
laser reflectors for golfers using laser rangefinders.
o Plans to replace the fish in the ponds are on hold. David D noted that the fish tend
to stir up silt that contaminates the water used for irrigation and thus could damage
greens. David pointed out that he used Aquaspheres (an organic algaecide) on
the pond on hole #2 and that had cleared the algae satisfactorily. That is his plan
for the remaining ponds.
o LU currently has 14 workers on site. Their contract ends on June 27th. Together
with the Golf Staff they will complete the clean -up of remaining minor issues such
as removing debris piles, sweeping the cart paths, installing OB stakes and
marking hazard boundaries.
o The Colorado Mens PGA is scheduled to visit the course on June 26 to establish a
course rating with the rating being published a week later. The Womens PGA is
yet to schedule a time. We will use the existing ratings during the short transition
period.
6. Staff Update on Operations Outstanding Issues
a.
