Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 18, 2003 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd stated the trash collection is consistent with last years' <br />Street Faire. City Manager Bill Simmons stated it would be consistent with what is done <br />for other events in the parks. <br /> <br />Sisk asked Love if insurance is the only remaining issue. Love stated the remaining <br />issues are insurance and a clause in the agreement giving the DBA sole right to store <br />items in the shed. She stated the trash would be collected in receptacles for City pick-up. <br /> <br />MOTION: Levihn moved that Council approve the License and Improvement <br />Agreement with the Main Street Louisville Business Improvement District for use of the <br />Steinbaugh property, seconded by Van Pelt. <br /> <br />Sisk offered a friendly amendment that the Mayor or Mayor Pro-Tem be authorized to <br />make necessary changes with respect to issues of insurance and the storage of materials. <br /> <br />Levihn and Van Pelt accepted the amendment. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR SUBMITTAL OF JOINT APPLICATION WITH THE <br />BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR A GREAT OUTDOORS <br />COLORADO GRANT FOR FIRESIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />PLAYGROUND EXPANSION <br /> <br />Sisk called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Land Management Director Cindy Lair reported the City's Land Management <br />Department is partnering with Fireside Elementary School, the Fireside PTO, and <br />Boulder Valley School District to apply for Great Outdoors Colorado Grant, in the <br />amount of $40,000, for the Fireside Elementary School playground expansion. If funded, <br />this project would provide a fully integrated wheelchair accessible playground at Fireside <br />Elementary and be only one of its kinds in Louisville. Lair thanked the Fireside PTO for <br />working with the City on this project, which totals approximately $92,000. Contributions <br />are as follows: Fireside PTO $17,200, BVSD $15,000, and the City of Louisville <br />$10,000. Staff is optimistic the Great Outdoors Colorado Board will regard this project <br />favorably, and noted the deadline is March 1st. <br /> <br />Simmons clarified the City of Louisville is the applicant for the GOCO grant and noted if <br />awarded, Council would approve the contract documents. Staff is recommending the <br />City's contribution come from the School Use Tax. <br /> <br />Rebecca Fischer, 129 Skyview Court, Louisville, CO, Co-Chair of the Fireside PTO, <br />thanked everyone who worked on the project and reported the Boulder County <br />Commissioners contributed $10,000.
