Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes <br />July 20 2015 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />Lcitiyof <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Golf Course Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />07 -20 -2015 <br />Golf Clubhouse <br />6:30 PM <br />Call to Order — Ken Gambon called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. <br />Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br />Board Members Present: Ken Gambon, Lisa Norgard, Cory Nickerson, Heikke <br />Nielsen, Perry Nelson and Sandy Stewart <br />Board Members Excused Absence: Dennis Maloney <br />Council Members: Jay Keany <br />Staff Members Present: Joe Stevens, David Dean and David Baril <br />Public: David Honan, Gil Saens, Chris Bianco and Tom Robichaud <br />2. Approval of Agenda — The agenda was unanimously approved. Lisa Norgard <br />proposed, Perry Nelson seconded. <br />3. Approval of Meeting Minutes — The May 18 Minutes were unanimously approved. <br />Perry Nelson proposed, Cory Nickerson. <br />4. Public comments: A group of homeowners who live on hole #1 expressed their <br />dissatisfaction with the high grass that is now between the green and their property. <br />They commented that this detracts from the ambience of the course and of their <br />homes. Specific concerns are that this has attracted a lot of insects, includes a lot of <br />weeds and could provide a haven for snakes and unwelcome critters. They observe <br />that golfers waste a lot of time looking for balls in the grass and cut through the high <br />grass on the way to the 2nd tee. Staff and the Board explained that the additional <br />native grass on the course was a move to conserve water and reduce maintenance <br />costs. Due to the recent heavy rain, the rye grass that was part of the seeding has <br />grown very high. The intent is to reduce watering to let the rye grass die off which will <br />leave only the wisps of fescue.
