There were several alternatives to a course rebuild
that would not have been favorable to homeowners (or property values) and we are universally happy
that we STILL live on a golf course, not open space or a condo complex.
We commend the Golf course team on their efforts to rebuild the course in such a short timeline, this
was not an easy project and they got it done on time. The new tee boxes, greens and bunkers are top
notch! Thanks to all involved in bringing this Louisville icon back to life!
We are all after the same goals:
1. Provide a golf course that players WANT to play to ensure future revenues to support the
ongoing maintenance and viability of this course.
2. Keep Louisville as a top ten place to live in the USA with beautiful parks, homes and golf course.
We feel that there is a place for 'wild areas' - in fact they are needed and work well as separators, play
hazards, and flow control. There are also ecological benefits such as wildlife habitat and reduction of
water usage for irrigation. However, the area near our houses is not the best place for the addition of
wildlife. While the addition of snakes and rodents between Hole #5 and Hole #6 may be acceptable
wildlife sanctuary, we feel that this feature is a safety concern so close to homes with babies and small
children,
We formally request this area be returned to a standard golf course rough and if the course is under
mandate to maintain a certain number of square feet of this type of grass, that it be moved to a more
fitting part of the course (near woods, water, between fairways, etc.)
We feel that over 90% of the homes that border Coal Creek GC are not forced to endure this ugly,
unsafe addition. These homes have the same beautiful, manicured course adjacent to their homes they
have always had, this beauty should not be taken away from the homeowners on Manorwood Court.
9
