Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
July 20, 2015
Stewart asked how it shows up on the next agenda.
Watson stated he didn't think it needed to be a public hearing because it will just
be wrapped up in the preservation master plan. It is most important that we
narrow down the definition.
Russ stated there is a lot of work that still needs to be done on the definition of
demolition itself. He agrees with the need for the fix, but doesn't want to "open
the box" over and over. He strongly recommends placing this as the first item on
the priority list of the preservation master plan.
Watson stated his only focus is to determine the difference between roof and
roofing.
Stewart stated he believes the commission has a roll in a code change. He just
thought the roofing discussion was "low hanging fruit" that could be dealt with.
The commission agreed to table the remaining items on the agenda to discuss
"Updates from Staff ".
Discussion — Historic Structure Assessment (tabled)
Discussion — Definition of Roof (tabled)
Committee Reports —
Update on Demolition — 102 Rose Street, 636 Garfield Avenue (tabled)
Update on Alteration Certificate Requests — 927 Main Street (tabled)
Updates from Staff — HPC Meeting Time Change, Loan Program Upcoming
Events,
HPC Meeting Time Change
Trice asked if anyone was interested in moving the meeting time.
Watson asked the commission if they could start at 6:30.
The commission agreed.
Watson stated he could not, but would go with the consensus.
