Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />08 June 2015 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Programming Reports /Committee Updates — <br />• Summer Concerts in the Park: Advertising — posters will be distributed <br />by a local student who has been hired for this purpose. Darin will <br />investigate Daily Camera and Hometown Weekly print ad prices. A <br />motion passed to authorize spending of up to $500 on a print ad. <br />Concert schedule was distributed for volunteer sign -up. Volunteers should <br />arrive at Community Park at 5 pm. A motion for re- opening the entire <br />CAMP survey for the period of the summer concerts, by distributing a <br />piece of paper with the URL for the survey at the summer concert, was <br />approved. Action: Suzanne will create the hand -outs; LCC volunteers will <br />distribute. <br />A motion to survey attendees for interest in the 2016 summer concert <br />music genres and to join the LCC mailing list passed. Action: Suzanne <br />will prepare these for the end of the concert series. <br />Food trucks — Marco's pizza has expressed interest. A potential vendor of <br />Balinese food (a truck) is interested in 3 nights in the series. <br />Labor Day concert: A motion to hold a Labor Day concert did not pass, so <br />LCC will not support a concert on that weekend this year. <br />• Sunday Chamber Committee: Alfredo Muro on 10/11 — the contract has <br />been sent to him. <br />• Lecture Committee: There are no lectures planned. Lecture dates of <br />9/16 and 11/11 at the Arts Center will be offered to Joan Langford for a <br />possible Fall Young Songwriter Series, or to another local artist. <br />Also, Saturday August 15th is available on the LCC calendar at the Arts <br />Center.. <br />• Friday Night LIVE! Committee: MaryLynn Gillaspie is under contract for <br />9/25. Also Alfredo Muro 10/23. <br />• "Angie's Lit" Committee: Stories on Stage — The 2015 books will be <br />announced on June 18th (one fiction, one non - fiction). Stories on Stage <br />people have been contacted. In addition to hosting the event at the Arts <br />Center, LCC handles food, promotion, printing posters. <br />• Movie Committee: Considering doing an afternoon movie on Sunday, <br />9/20. Silent movie will be October 10th. Both the library and the <br />CineBarre manager have contacted Suzanne. Jill Clateman /The Art <br />Underground may be interested in doing a series again. October 3rd is <br />open for another LCC event. <br />• Marketing Committee: Suzanne has made arrangements for the student <br />distributor to collect posters on Tuesday 6/9/2015. <br />-- For Approval -- <br />
